Arthur M. Hardy, AIC, President, Petersburg/Richmond

 

37 years as an independent adjuster, 30 years in management of independent operations. Handles workers compensation cases, general liability, auto/truck liability, property losses and business interruption claims. Specializes in truck liability and cargo claims, fire and arson investigations. Member of the Richmond Claims Association, President in 1980, Adjuster of the Year in 1979, presented the Life Membership in 1996 for State Claims Association; International Association of Arson Investigators, Member, Blue Goose International; Virginia Chapter, Chairman - Arson Award Program 1991-2002.  Life Membership Richmond Claims Association 2004.

 

Steven R. Smith, AIC, Senior Vice-President, Danville

 

27 years multi-line adjusting with independent firm. 22 years management of independent adjusting operations.  Licensed in North Carolina.  Handles all lines, including truck and auto liability, products liability, on-scene investigations and malpractice claims.  Specializes in property losses, property appraisals, auto and cargo claims.  Member Virginia State Claims Association, Past President in 1996. Adjuster of the Year in 1994, Danville Claims Association and North Carolina Claims Association member. Member,  Blue Goose International and Association of Arson Investigators. Bachelor of Science; Averett College.

Over 44 years multi-line claims handling experience.  Past President Virginia State Claims Association. Member, Richmond Claims Association and the Hampton Roads Claims Association. B.S. in Business Administration; Virginia Tech.

Peter C. Lassen, Branch Manager, Roanoke

Over 12 years insurance claims handling experience; as well as construction fields. Pete has worked as a catastrophe adjuster, independent insurance adjuster and fire/water restoration specialist. Pete is in charge of our Catastrophe Division and involved in the supervision of all assignments in our Roanoke office.  Vice President of the Roanoke Claims Association. Bachelor of Arts; Business Management, St. Leo College.

Karen L. Selders, CCLA, AIC, Branch Manager, Manassas

 Over 22 years claims adjusting experience in property. general liability, auto/truck liability, business interruption, workers' compensation, inland marine, cargo, boiler & machinery.  Over 12 years in management. Specializes in liability investigations, bodily injury claim evaluation and negotiation, as well as scene investigations, settlements, arbitration and litigation.  Member, Society of Claims Law Associates(SCLA), Virginia State Claims Association(VSCA) and National Association of Female Executives(NAFE). B.S. in Education, University of Hartford; M.S. in Business Management, University of Hartford; Diploma in Legal Principles, American Educational Institute; Speaks Spanish.

Michael A. Metzgar, Branch Manager, Central Pennsylvania

 Experience includes completion of more than 1000 residential and commercial property claims while serving as CAC Catastrophe Response Coordinator.  Licensed adjuster in North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida with NFIP Flood Certification.  Twenty-two years of experience in a Combat Engineer Battalion as a US Army Training and Operations Officer (Major, Retired). Graduate of the US Army Command and General Staff College, Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas and Northeastern Oklahoma A & M College, Miami, Oklahoma.  Currently Chairman of the Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania Planning Commission and serves on the Board of Directors with NCBBA, Manteo, North Carolina and the Board of Directors for Universal Construction Code in Blair County, Pennsylvania.

Raynelle Lankford, Adjuster - Roanoke Branch

Over 31 years experience in complete handling of commercial and personal auto, general liability and property claims. Experience in evaluation and negotiations in bodily injury claims.  Have attended mediations, arbitrations and have some experience in litigation. Attended classes at American Educational Institute, Vale National Training Center and have completed AIC 34 through 35 classes from the Insurance Institute of America. Member, Roanoke Claims Association.

Daniel B. Thompson, Adjuster - Virginia Beach Branch & Catastrophe Division

Over 30 years management experience including 22 years management with the U.S. Navy; 10 years management as property damage estimator/project manager/property manager for commercial and residential property. "Blackie" is an adjuster in the Catastrophe Division and handles property claims in our Virginia Beach office. Member, Hampton Roads Claims Association. Licensed adjuster in Florida, North Carolina and South Carolina and is NFIP Flood Certified. Associate of Science in Humanities, Mohegan Community College.

 

  Tamiko Hardaway, Adjuster

Over ten years in the insurance industry specializing in auto and liability claims handling.  Active member and Treasurer of the Hampton Roads Claims Association; also active on the Hampton Roads Scholarship Committee which awards numerous scholarships to notable students every year. Bachelor of Science in Marketing; Hampton University.

Jack Shelton, Appraiser

 Over 30 years experience appraising automobiles, heavy equipment and trucks; also has done property appraisals.   15 years experience as auto parts and body shop manager. Vale National Training Center; Tractor/Trailer Damage Estimating, General Motors Training Center, Tidewater Community College; American and Maryland University courses.
